
THIS MONTH'S BUGNET COVER story by Bruce Kratofil on problems with Microsoft Word 97 made us wonder how the bug/fix success rate of Office 95 compares with Office 97. It's not surprising that Office 95 scores higher than Office 97 (since Microsoft has had a couple years to provide fixes for the former), but what IS surprising is that Office 97's score is below 50%. This indicates that through April Microsoft has provided fixes or work-arounds for less than half the problems users are having with Office 97. But stay tuned; the race has just started...
