Word vs. WordPerfect:
Word Processors Go Head To Head

Last month we looked at the comparative bug/fix success rate of the two powerhouses of the Windows graphics realm, Adobe and Corel. This month we look at the bug/fix success rate of the two main players in the world of Windows word processing, Microsoft Word and Corel, neé Novell, WordPerfect. WordPerfect has been losing market share like a punctured tire for several years, of course, and this chart shows part of the reason why. Even with Novell's excellent technical facility, WordPerfect has significantly lagged Word in the crucial area of bug/fixes. Based on BugNet's figures over the last 18 months, users of Word have a 10% better chance of getting bugs fixed than users of WordPerfect.
