The new stunt on the Upper Ridge Trail between the Big Gnarly and the fork for the Upper Ridge Trail Extension.
Rode for four hours on Galbraith en route to Hartstene Island to check the pilings under the beach cabin.

There is a new log crossing (actually, log pile) stunt on the Upper Ridge Trail. I rode it both ways.

Continuing on the the fork between Crazy 8s and 911, I took Crazy 8s, which I enjoyed so much I immediately rode back up it, then turned around and rode back down. Very nice trail, which is ridable both ways (except, maybe climbing the biggest drop and the chute above).

At the island, I found one of the main pilings on the south side of the cabin had been knocked out. Jeannie Fancher and I will go down next Saturday to fix it.

Approximately 2300 verts.

This is an excerpt from Vert Quest, which chronicles The Man Known As Mongo's pursuit of the World Record for climbing on a mountain bike, 404,000 vertical feet, or the vertical equivalent of 13 sea-level-to-summit ascents of Mt. Everest during a 12 month period.
