A Stellar's Jay feather in the trail.

Rode Galbraith alone, working on GalbraithMt.com, and specifically scouting for Galbraith Mt. Map #2.

Particularly enjoyed Oly and Keystone / Dirty Sock, which I rode up, and then back down. Almost scared myself to death coming down into the creek at the bottom of Keystone, though. Wow, the loose rock and soil chunks on top of the steep, dry hard pack made it difficult just to walk down to the creek. And the ravine is even worse on the other side.

Approximately 2300 verts.

The gnarly drop to the creek at the bottom of Keystone.

This is an excerpt from Vert Quest, which chronicles The Man Known As Mongo's pursuit of the World Record for climbing on a mountain bike, 404,000 vertical feet, or the vertical equivalent of 13 sea-level-to-summit ascents of Mt. Everest during a 12 month period.
