Dan Lunden shares his water with his dog Hoona on the Tower Rd.

Rode Galbraith with Mark and Tom, starting from Galbraith Lane as we are doing most of the time now.

We returned again to the New Kaiser, which is becoming a favorite (must add it to GalbraithMt.com Map #2) because it is in very good shape, and because it has worn in well \since early summer when Mark Belles and I rode it and weren't too impressed.

The strangest thing was that my lower back went out part way down 911. I didn't fall or anything, but by the time we were through with Lost Giants, I was in some pain. I'll clearly have to lay off for a couple of days, but that's probably OK since I've already got 23,000 verts for the month.

Approximately 1200 verts.

This is an excerpt from Vert Quest, which chronicles The Man Known As Mongo's pursuit of the World Record for climbing on a mountain bike, 404,000 vertical feet, or the vertical equivalent of 13 sea-level-to-summit ascents of Mt. Everest during a 12 month period.
