Jekyll mit big mossy rock.

Rode Galbraith alone on what I hoped would be a quick jaunt to burn off some of the tension surrounding Lane and my divorce. Instead the tension got me. I was riding up Miranda when I suddenly went blind. Actually, I still had some peripheral vision, but the center of my vision was a dancing whirl of confusion. I had to lie down in the trail with my eyes closed for about 10 minutes. When I reopened my eyes, I could see OK but I limped home. Later, Mark told me I had probably experienced an ocular migrane.

Approximately 700 verts. I ended up with 27,000 verts for the month of November, and 382,000 verts climbed for the year.

A broken shovel commemorates the builders of Miranda.

This is an excerpt from Vert Quest, which chronicles The Man Known As Mongo's pursuit of the World Record for climbing on a mountain bike, 404,000 vertical feet, or the vertical equivalent of 13 sea-level-to-summit ascents of Mt. Everest during a 12 month period.
