Mark with Black Mt. in the background; a demonic-looking Bruce with Mt. Baker and Mt. Shuksan in the background over each shoulder (sort of).
Mark and I celebrated my 50th birthday with another return to the old 'hood, where I began my year long quest for 400,000 vertical feet climbed on a mountain bike in January of this year.
We spun up the Frost Rd. Spur, stopping first at the quarry, and then again at the Columbia Valley overlook. It was good to ride with Mark, and he's still hard to catch coming down the upper descent off the ridge.
With the sunset blazing before us, we ripped all the way back to Mark's place on the Frost Rd. and enjoyed big barbequed burgers and other pleasures.
Approximately 1200 verts. I ended up with a grand total of 404,978 vertical feet climbed during the year 2000, which is a new world record for climbing on a mountain bike.
