Steve cutting a corner on the south side of the mountain on his new Ti Kona hardtail.
Rode Galbraith with Steve Hindman. Lane gave me a little bit of a hard time because I agreed to ride with him before I recognized his voice on the phone. "You're sure easy," she said. Made me feel like a real ride slut.

Steve is in the throes of new bike fever too. He has a new titanium Kona hardtail with all the trimmings, which he got with the assistance of his brother, John (who works for Kona).

We climbed through the Candy Trails, and then had big fun on Purple Heart and Kung Fu Theater, where Steve took the double log drop and I made the off-camber log on the detour.

Approximately 2400 verts.

Vert Quest chronicles "The Man Known As Mongo's" pursuit of the World Record for climbing on a mountain bike, 404,000 vertical feet, or the vertical equivalent of 13 sea-level-to-summit ascents of Mt. Everest during a 12 month period. Mongo's mountain bike climbing tricks are distilled in Mongo's Over-the-top Guide to Climbing.
