On Dan Water's New Trail -- Mark Adriance crossing the ravine on the elevated catwalk, and then moments later coming back across the ravine on the old old growth cedar.
Rode Galbraith with Mark Belles and Mark Adriance, and had a great time.

Purple Heart, Kung Fu Theater, Crazy 8s and Dan's Trail were particularly memorable. I made the double log drop on Kung Fu Theater, and then rode the high old growth log crossing on Purple Heart both ways.

Missy went home to bake a birthday cake after a couple hours, but the three guys continued on, climbing the highest of the Three Little Pigs, which was a surprisingly good climb, and finally ripping down Upper Arsenio, the Candies, the Intestine, Pinball Wizard, Family Fun Center and the Ridge Trail.

Mark Adriance (who lead the rip all the way down the Lower Ridge Trail) and I repaired afterwards to Fairhaven Bike, where we each left our bikes for a bunch of work.

I'm having new cables and casings put on the Jekyll after just 6 weeks of Galbraith mud. I believe this reveals a relative weakness of the Cannondale Jekyll (the cable routes are not as good as the Specialized Stumpjumper FSR XC's), but I hope that I have it licked with the new longer front fender and the new sealed cables that Fairhaven will be installing for me too. TBC...

Approximately 2300 verts.

Vert Quest chronicles "The Man Known As Mongo's" pursuit of the World Record for climbing on a mountain bike, 404,000 vertical feet, or the vertical equivalent of 13 sea-level-to-summit ascents of Mt. Everest during a 12 month period. Mongo's mountain bike climbing tricks are distilled in Mongo's Over-the-top Guide to Climbing.
