Pete at the top of the second face on Flying Squirrel. He endoed
dramatically about a second later when his front wheel dug in into the post holed horse
track immediately below him in this shot.
Rode Galbraith with Mark Belles and legendary Galbraith Mt. trail builder, Pete Miers (of Nick and Pete fame). Mark was eager to show Pete his new trail Wonderland. Afterwards, we ran down Dan's Trail and the Flying Squirrel.
I set up to take some pics of Pete on the second steep face on Flying Squirrel, which gave me a great view of him endoing over the bars in the full on Rocky and Bullwinkle maneuver with both arms outstretched in front of him in flight before he rolled down the hill like a hedgehog. Amazingly, he wasn't badly hurt.
However, when we got to the top of the second of the Three Little Pigs, Pete asked us to stop. There was something wrong with his front wheel, he said. Looking closer, discovered that the force of the fall had driven rocks and dirt between the tire and the rim. We had to let some air out of the tube and dump the debris out, sort of like the way a baseball player dumps the dirt out of his pants after sliding into second base.
Unfortunately, my camera ran out of digital film just before Pete had his over the bar experience. Pete didn't seem as disappointed about this as I was.
