Mark and Steve take a break at the outlet of Lost Lake, above.
Below, they explore the slick rock tongue of polished bedrock below the outfall.
Rode Chuckanut with Mark and Steve, climbing Burnout Rd. to the top and then ripping down the trail from the summit to Lost Lake.
Finally got my Cannondale Jekyll back with a new frame, rear wheel (Hugi 240 hub), Conti tires, rock ring and new 11/34 Shimano XT rear cluster, and I must say this bike positively flies. I can't believe how hot it is.
The trail down from the top of Burnout Rd. to Lost Lake has several very steep, highly technical sections that are reminiscent of Double Black Diamond.
We ripped all these, and then came flying down the ridge to the last technical drop
into Arroyo Park, which had a slime factor of about 20, but we all cleaned everything --
bang, bang, bang -- in a row. In fact, after the previous trail, Arroyo almost seemed
easy.
Then I was the only one who managed to ride up the tough stairway up to the Interurban
from where you come out of Arroyo Park. Big day for Bruce.
Approximately 2700 verts. This gives me 41,098 for the month and 285,000 for the year
so far.
