Russ rolling over a rock on Kung Fu Theater and crusing through the woods on the new Kaiser.

Rode Galbraith with Mark and Steve first thing in the morning. Then we connected with Jimmy and Jason for an hour at Padden at the end of our ride. And finally I rode with Russ in late afternoon on Galbraith again.

Steve took a nasty spill on the second face on Flying Squirrel, exactly where I endoed several months ago. It is sooo easy to carry too much speed into the top of this face, and then get sucked down into the trough where the big alder logs are lying length-wise.

Approximately 1750 verts.

Vert Quest chronicles "The Man Known As Mongo's" pursuit of the World Record for climbing on a mountain bike, 404,000 vertical feet, or the vertical equivalent of 13 sea-level-to-summit ascents of Mt. Everest during a 12 month period. Mongo's mountain bike climbing tricks are distilled in Mongo's Over-the-top Guide to Climbing.
